An ice cream that looks like this needs a name that brings a smile to your face and gleeful joy to your inner child. I’m thinking this might become a new favorite for some of my mom friends with young kids, as well as their downfall when the sugar high crashes a few hours later..
Just don’t say I didn’t warn you..
I normally am not a big fan of using food dye and artificial ingredients in my food so my guess is that this recipe will be reworked soon. For now I followed it just as so from Big Bear’s Wife. I haven’t made a no churn ice cream before and found the flavoring for this to be different from what I was used to. I think the next time I may just make my regular vanilla base and then add the food coloring once the base is done and at a soft serve consistency. Mix that up and then add it to the pan to swirl together. I’m finding that the flavor of this is too close to a McFlurry base for my likes… though McFlurries make McDonald’s a lot of money so evidently my taste is in the minority compared with the world 😉
UNICORN SPARKLE PRINCESS ICE CREAM
1 pint heavy cream
14oz sweetened condensed milk
2 Tbsp vanilla extract
Neon food coloring
In a mixing bowl whip cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form, then added in condensed milk and continue to whip until combined. Separate mix into four bowls and add in desired colors of food coloring (be thoughtful of the colors will look like if they run together we don’t want a yucky brown ice cream!) mixing the food coloring throughly with the base. Spoon mixtures into a loaf pan alternating spoonfuls of color. Once all the mixture is in the pan take a knife and run it through in a figure 8 a few times to swirl the colors. Sprinkle, cover with cling film to be air-tight, and freeze for several hours or overnight.
and enjoy with your own sparkly princess/prince/queen/king/magical unicorn! ❤
